The Mars® comfort 551 is STAEDTLER's precision compass, and the spindle guide is what separates it from a school compass — the legs cannot drift once set, so a circle closes where it started. A spring-bow head and centre wheel do the setting. The lead part is interchangeable on a 4 mm shank, the needle is shouldered and replaceable, and the body is solid metal. Supplied cased with an extension bar, universal adapter and spares box.
