The deodorizing stage sits ahead of the HEPA filter and works on what a particle filter cannot hold — cooking smells, smoke, pets and the everyday background odours of a busy household. Carbon removes odours by adsorption, so once the media is saturated it simply stops working, and airflow through a clogged filter falls away with it. Fitting the original SHARP part on schedule restores the deodorizing performance the purifier shipped with and protects the HEPA filter behind it from loading up early. Supplied as a single filter. SHARP publishes no service-life figure or dimensions for this part; follow the filter indicator and the replacement interval given in the FP-F60UW operation manual.
