The PFI-1000 Chroma Optimizer is a clear coat rather than a colour. On the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 it is laid over the print as part of the LUCIA PRO system, levelling the surface across inked and uninked areas so gloss reads evenly across the whole sheet and bronzing in dense, dark passages is suppressed. It sits in its own slot beside the eleven colour tanks and is installed and replaced independently of them.
