The CL-246 holds cyan, magenta and yellow in a single cartridge for Canon's entry-level PIXMA iP, MG, MX, TS and TR printers. It handles everything on the page that is not black text — photos, charts, coloured headings and graphics — and is replaced independently of the PG-245 black cartridge beside it. It is the standard capacity; the CL-246XL holds more ink for regular colour printing.
