The BCI-3e Black Ink Tank is an individual, replaceable black tank for Canon's BCI-3e system. It is economical precisely because it is separate: when black runs out — which on document printing it does first — you keep the print head and the colour tanks and replace only this one. Canon rates it at up to 1,500 A4 pages. It fits a long list of i-series, S-series, BJC and MultiPASS machines.
