The STAEDTLER® 512 is the two-hole version of the tub sharpener, so one container covers a whole pencil case. The small hole takes standard pencils up to 8.2 mm at 23° for clear, accurate lines; the large hole takes thick blacklead and coloured pencils up to 10.2 mm at 30° for broad, soft ones. Both run on a metal insert. The hinged cover keeps the shavings in and the lid has a safety lock against accidental opening.
