The STAEDTLER® 2430 is a soft pastel chalk, and soft is the operative word — it marks with almost no pressure and blends under a finger, which is how pastel gets its gradations. The colours are brilliant and hold a high degree of lightfastness, so finished work does not fade out. Each square chalk is roughly 10 mm across and 65 mm long, in a paper sleeve. STAEDTLER recommends fixing the finished drawing. This is the box of 12; the range runs to 48 colours.
