This is an ultra long-life filter: SHARP rates it for up to five years after opening depending on the environment, which is what keeps the KC850U’s running costs low. When airflow drops or the filter indicator calls for it, replace rather than wash. Supplied as a single filter — the washable deodorizing filter (FZC100DFU) and humidifying filter (FZC100MFU) are separate parts.
