Entrepot La Grange's fireplace mantel shelf is built from reclaimed wood and closed with solid wood end caps, so the exposed ends read as a salvaged beam rather than a cut board. At 60" long, 7" deep and 5" thick it carries the proportions of a traditional mantel while staying light enough for one person to handle, and the mounting hardware comes in the box, which keeps the installation to a single straightforward job. The Medium Walnut finish leaves the reclaimed grain, knots and saw marks visible, so it settles in against brick, stone, tile or painted drywall equally well. Over a firebox it gives you a ledge for a clock, candles, garland or framed photographs; in a room with no fireplace at all it works just as well as an oversized display shelf in an entryway, dining room or bedroom.
