A three-stage system handles the air: a washable pre-filter catches large particles, an activated carbon filter absorbs many common household odours, and a long-life True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns that pass through it, including pollen, dust, pet dander, smoke, mould and fungus. SHARP’s patented Plasmacluster® Ion technology targets odours conventional filters do not reach, which makes the FPK50UW a practical choice for allergy sufferers, pet owners and smokers. Express Clean gives sixty minutes of high-density ion output at high fan speed, then returns to the prior mode on its own.
